Why does my invoice have a new tax rate in the adjusted subtotal?

In very rare cases, your invoice may have a different tax rate than your signed proposal. This happens when ALL of the following are true:

  • Your customer has selected multiple options
  • At least one option or upgrade has an adjusted subtotal
  • Different tax rates have been applied

Here is an example of a proposal where this may happen:

In this example, you can see that the tax rate in option 1 is set to 10%, but there is no tax rate in option 2. To calculate your final invoice totals and taxes, we will combine all of your adjusted values and recalculate your tax rate.

In the above example, your invoice will be created with the same exact adjusted subtotals and discounts, and your new tax rate will be 5.60%.  For more details on the exact calculations, check out the section below.
