Introducing Work Orders beta: The newest part of your production workflow

We’re thrilled to announce the beta release of work orders, a highly requested feature that simplifies how roofing contractors manage their projects. Whether you're assigning tasks to your crews or documenting job details, work orders are here to keep your production pipeline smooth, efficient, and stress-free.

Why use work orders in Roofr

If you’ve been cobbling together solutions for defining job scope, you’re not alone. Many contractors rely on makeshift solutions which can leading to scope disputes, incorrect installations, and in the worst case–fraud. Work orders solve these problems by offering a centralized, clear, and detailed scope of work document that makes sure everyone is on the same page before the work beings. It's not secret - work orders matter.

But here's why you should use Roofr for your work orders:

  • Use the proposals and material orders you've already created to create clearly defined job scopes and avoid misunderstandings.
  • Send orders by email without any extra steps of downloading docs or copying and pasting instructions.
  • Manage and track work orders from the same place you manage the rest of your job tasks, keeping everyone on the same page.

What's in beta

This is just the beginning. Our “beta” release simply means we’ve focused on getting you the essentials so you can start creating work orders now. That includes—creating, sending, and tracking work orders. While features like automations and crew management are still on the roadmap, you’ll get a sneak peek into how work orders can transform your workflow today.

Here’s what you can do with work orders beta:

  • Use your already signed proposals or existing material orders to instantly create a work order. Or, start from scratch.
  • Create and manage material orders directly on your job card, so all your job details live in one easy-to-track place.
  • Edit material lists, add photos, and leave notes directly on the order.
  • Send to work orders directly to the crew without leaving Roofr.

What’s next

As we mentioned, we’ve got more features coming and we’re already working on future updates, like:

  • Integrating with the calendar to automatically add events when an order is created
  • Robust crew management tools so you can create crew profiles and manage documentation, and get reporting on costs and payments
  • Optional pricing on work orders so you can control visibility on scope and set expectations

As always, your feedback is key to shaping the next version of work orders and we’d love to hear what you think. To speak to our team about what you’d like to see, book a call with our Product team.
