How to Show & Hide Line Items on a Proposal Template

Learn how to hide or show individual line items in your proposal template for fast re-use before sending it to your customer.

What it does: Hides line items from the completed/sent proposal template.

Purpose: Allows line items to be used as part of the estimate calculation without being displayed in the proposal that is presented to customers. Hiding the line hides the item from the proposal, but it doesn’t change the calculation of the total. It just hides the line item.

Prerequisites:*  None, but a proposal template is recommended

Available On: Pro, Premium & Elite Plans

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: In your proposal that you want to edit, click “edit option”

Step 2: Choose your line item, then click the “eye” icon on the fair right side of each line item to show/hide the line item. If the eye has a cross through it, it means that the line item will not be shown on the final proposal.

Important Note:  How hiding line items affects your totals

If you choose to hide line items, the overall price in the proposal will not be changed. Hiding the item simply means you are able to control the details shown on the proposal.

If your pricing is set to show line item totals or line item unit price, hidden line items may result in prices not adding up correctly when presenting the proposal to your customer.
