How to Set-Up your File Manager

Managing company documentation just got a whole lot easier with Roofr’s new File Manager! Whether you need to attach documents to proposals, send files to customers, or reference important job-related information, File Manager keeps everything in one easy-to-access place.

What is File Manager?

File Manager is your team’s central hub for storing and accessing important documents. Whether it’s images, PDFs, or other crucial files, File Manager eliminates guesswork and streamlines collaboration. All documents uploaded into the File Manager can be added to proposals by anyone on your team. By the end of this guide, you’ll know how to navigate File Manager, create folders, upload files, and attach documents to proposals—helping your team stay organized and efficient.

How to Access the File Manager

Step 1: Navigate to the File Manager tab in the Manage section of the left-hand menu in your Roofr account.

💡 Pro Tip: Use File Manager as the central hub for your team’s important documents. Upload any files you want your team to have access to at any time.

Step 2: In the top-right corner of File Manager, click Create Folder to organize documents into categories.

Examples include:

  • Product Brochures
  • Customer Contracts
  • Marketing Assets

Step 3: Click Upload Files to add images or PDFs for your team.

Once uploaded, these files are visible to the whole team.

  • Note: Only managers or admins can add or delete files, keeping the system organized and secure.

Using File Manager in proposals

Quickly attach documents to proposals with these simple steps:

Open a proposal and click the blue plus button on the left-hand side.

  • Select Add PDF to attach your document.

Step 5: Choose your source:

  • From your device: Upload a PDF directly from your computer or tablet.
  • From job attachments: Use files already attached to a specific job card.
  • From File Manager: Select any document stored in the File Manager.

FAQs:

Q: Can team members upload or delete files in File Manager?
A: No, only managers and admins can add or delete files. Team members can view and use the files but cannot make changes.

Q: Can I edit documents in File Manager within Roofr?
A: Not yet! Editing documents directly in Roofr is coming in early 2025. Stay tuned! 🤩

Q: Is there a limit to how many documents I can upload?
A: Yes:

  • Pro plan: 2 documents
  • Premium plan: 10 documents
  • Elite plan: 50 documents

Q: Can I add File Manager documents to customer communications?
A: Not currently, but this feature is coming soon!

Q: Why can’t my team member see a document I uploaded to the job card?
A: Documents uploaded to a job card are visible only to the team member assigned to that job. For team-wide access, upload the document to File Manager instead.
