How to Add a CompanyCam Project Showcase to your Instant Estimator

What it does: Let’s you display your CompanyCam Project Showcase as a widget on your Instant Estimator results page.

Purpose: Build trust with potential new customers by showcasing examples of your past work.

Prerequisites:

  • On the Elite plan and using the Instant Estimator
  • Have a CompanyCam account, and at least 1 project showcase created.

Available On: Elite Plan

Here’s how it works:

Adding a CompanyCam project showcase to your Instant Estimator is simple, but requires some back and forth between the platforms. If you’ve installed the widget on your website, this will be a breeze. Then it’s just a simple toggle to turn it on. Let’s dive in!

  • Getting your showcase ID in CompanyCam
  • Adding the code in Roofr
  • Enabling and disabling showcases on your Instant Estimators

This should go without saying, but in order to add this widget to your Instant Estimator you must have at least 1 Showcase in CompanyCam.

Getting your showcase ID in CompanyCam

💡Quick Note: The Showcase widget only needs to be installed once. After the widget is installed, you can manage which projects are published to the showcase in the Showcase page in CompanyCam.

To start, you’ll need to log in to your CompanyCam account. To access the Showcase feature, you need to have the Admin or Manager role.

Step 1: In your navigation bar, choose Showcases to open your list of published projects

Step 2: Click the “Install Showcase Widget” button to access the embed code.

Note: Adding the widget to the Instant Estimator is not the same as adding it to a website.

Step 3: In the code pop-up go straight to Step 2. You do not need to copy the whole code

Step 4: The Showcase ID only refers to the code between the first set of quotation marks. Simply copy this part of the code.

This is the all the info you need from CompanyCam. Head back to your Roofr account!

Adding the Showcase ID to the Instant Estimator in Roofr

💡Quick Note: You only need to add the Showcase ID to your once, and it can be applied to all your Instant Estimators. You can manage your Showcase in CompanyCam and all the edits will be reflected in Roofr.

Step 1: In your Instant Estimator page, choose the “Settings” tab. Here you will manage your global settings. As mentioned, you will have one CompanyCam widget that exists across all of your Instant Estimators.

Step 2: In the Data Showcase ID section, paste the code snippet you copied from CompanyCam.

You’re done! Now you can manage the project showcases on your Instant Estimators on an individual basis.

💡Quick Note: You cannot edit the Showcase on each individual Instant Estimator, however you can choose to enable or disable it for each link. The default setting for new IE’s is for the widget to be disabled. When creating a new IE, you will need to toggle the setting to “on”.

Step 1: Choose an Instant Estimator you would like the Project Showcase to be visible on.

Step 2: Click the “Show CompanyCam” toggle to on.

Showcase FAQs

We won’t pretend to be product experts for CompanyCam, we’re just big fans of their work. When it comes to the in’s and out’s of their platform, it’s best to each out to their very own support gurus. However, we DID plagiarize some of their FAQs to share with you here.

Q. Will I need to install Showcases for each project I'd like displayed on my website?

A. The Showcase widget only needs to be installed once. After installation, you can publish additional projects by following the instructions laid out in Step 1 of this article.

Q. Can I add and/or delete labels for the job or project?

A. When adding Project Type you can select from the list of pre-added projects or type to add your own. Once a Project Type has been added to your list it will be there for all future Showcases and cannot be removed from the list.

Q. Can I add and/or delete materials used for the job or project?

A. When adding Products Used you can add products that you used on that job or Project. Once a Products Used label has been added to your list it will be there for all future Showcases and cannot be removed from the list.

Q. How can I make changes to a Showcase?

A. If you want to edit what you've published, simply go back to the Showcases tab > Edit (pencil icon) and make the needed changes > click Update.

Q. Why aren't the new photos I added displaying on my showcase?

A. Once you add new photos to your Project, you will want to choose which photos are hidden in your Showcase. To edit which photos are displayed, click the Showcases tab > Edit (pencil icon) > click Choose photos to hide > select which photos are hidden > click Update.

Q. Am I able to hide Showcases from displaying on my website? Is there a way to publish it again once it's been hidden?

A. If you'd like to hide a Showcase Project, you can do so by going to the Showcases tab > toggle the Showcase off. You can also unhide a project by going through the same workflow and turning the toggle from No to Yes.

Q. How do I delete a Showcase?

A. If you'd like to delete a Showcase Project entirely, you can do so by going to the Showcases tab > Edit (pencil icon) > Delete Showcase > Confirm delete.

Q. How can I see all of my active and hidden Showcases?

A. You can see all of your Showcases you have active or inactive by going to the Showcases option on the left sidebar. Here is where you can manage those Showcases, too.
