How to Customize a Proposal

Learn how to customize your proposal by adding new pages, changing the cover image and layout, & more.

What it does: Allows you to make changes to a proposal by updating the cover image, layout, adding pages, and more.

Purpose: Provides you with the tools to customize each proposal.

  • Update your cover photo and layout
  • Upload a PDF to include in the proposal
  • Add a text-only page

Prerequisites:*  A proposal must have been drafted.

  • Requirements to customize a proposal.

Available On: Free*, Pro*, Premium & Elite Plans

  • E-signatures and cover image + template selection are not available on these plans.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Log in to your Roofr dashboard and click the Proposals” button on the left side navigation.

Step 2: Click on the proposal you want to customize.

Changing Cover Image & Layout

Step 1: Click the “layout” button on the right hand side of the editor

Step 2: Click the “Cover” button in the left hand navigation

Step 3: Select the layout option you prefer

Step 4: To add a new cover photo, click the “replace” button directly on your cover photo or click on the “photo” button below layouts. Then you’ll be able to choose an image from your device.

Note: You can edit and crop the photo directly on your cover image

Adding a Section

Step 1: Click the “+” button on the left side navigation.

Step 2: Select between uploading your own PDF, or adding a text-only page.

Step 3: To upload a PDF, select the PDF file you would like to upload. Next, rename the page title.

Step 4: To add a text-only page begin by renaming the page title, and add any desired information/text to the text block.

Deleting a Section

Step 1: On the proposal editor, click on the page you would like to delete on the left side navigation.

Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click “Delete section”.

Editing Before Sending Your Proposal:

Note: You can always come back and edit the proposal at any time before sending it to your customer.

Step 1: Go to the “Proposals” page, click on the desired proposal, and make any edits required.

Step 2: Then click the “Preview and send” button.

Step 3: Then click the “Send to customer” button and the email editor will appear.

Step 4: Compose your email and click “Send proposal” to send off to your customer.

Step 1: Click the “Edit” button on the “Proposal Review” screen.

Step 2: Make any edits desired and then click the “Preview and send” button.

Step 3: Next, click the “Send to customer” button and the email editor will appear.

Step 4: Compose your email and click “Send proposal” to send off to your customer.

Making Changes After Sending the Proposal:

Note: Proposals are updated in real time so once you’ve sent the proposal, any changes you make will be reflected on what the customer sees

Step 1: Go to the “Proposals” page, click on the desired proposal.

Step 2: Click the “Edit proposal” button on the top right and click “Cancel signature request and edit”.

Step 3: Make any desired edits and then click “Preview and send”.

Step 4: Next, click the “Send to customer” button and the email editor will appear.

Step 5: Compose your email and click “Send proposal” to send off to your customer.
