New Business? No Catalog? Here's How To Set Up Your ABC Integration

Ready to connect your Roofr catalog with ABC Supply? Even if you're new to the business or haven’t placed an order with ABC yet, you can still set up this integration easily. Follow this guide to get your Roofr catalog connected and ready to go!

What it does: Helps you create your catalog and include prices via your ABC integration in Roofr

Purpose: This is essential for integrating your Roofr account to ABC. It lets our system retrieve the latest prices from ABC so you don’t have to update your catalog prices anymore AND you won’t ever send a proposal with old material pricing.

Ready to connect your Roofr catalog with ABC Supply? Even if you're new to the business or haven’t placed an order with ABC yet, you can still set up this integration easily. Follow this guide to get your Roofr catalog connected and ready to go!

Step 1: Set Up Your Roofr-ABC Integration

  1. Go to Your User Profile: In the top left corner of Roofr, click on your company name and select User Profile from the dropdown.
  2. Select Integrations: Within your profile, click on the Integrations tab.
  3. Connect to ABC: Ensure your ABC integration is active. This step is essential before uploading your line items so that Roofr can sync your catalog with ABC’s pricing.

Note: If you’d like to set up your catalog and don’t have your ABC account set up yet, you can continue with the following steps, however you’ll need to download and re-upload your catalog once you’ve set up your integration.

Step 2: Access the Roofr Catalog

  1. Log in to Roofr: Once you log in, you’ll be brought to your Job Board.
  2. Navigate to the Catalog: On the left-hand side, select the Catalog option. If this is your first time setting up your Roofr Catalog, you’ll see a blank catalog waiting to be set up.

Step 3: Prepare to Upload Items

  1. Go to the Top Right: In the top right corner, you’ll find options to Manage Catalog or Add Item.
  2. Shortcut Alert: To streamline your setup, choose Manage Catalog and then select Upload Catalog. This allows you to mass upload your items and pricing details all at once!

Step 4: Download the CSV Template

  1. Add New Catalog Items: On the upload page, select Add New Catalog Items.
  2. Download the Template: Choose the Download Template option to get a CSV file.
  3. Fill Out the CSV: Open the CSV file and fill in details about your items, such as:
    • Item Names: The materials you’ll be pricing.
    • Pricing Details: Cost per unit, unit type, etc.
    • ABC SKU Details: Include these if you have them already.
  1. Tip: If you don’t have ABC SKU details yet, don’t worry! Check out the next step to see how to get them.

Step 5: Gather Material Information from ABC

If you haven’t placed an ABC order yet, you’ll need some information from your ABC sales rep:

  1. Request Material List: Contact your ABC rep and ask for a list of materials for your typical jobs. For instance, if you’re handling shingle roof replacements, request a list of materials for those jobs.
  2. Ask for SKU Details: Be sure to ask your rep to include the ABC SKUs. This will make connecting your catalog items to ABC pricing much smoother.
  3. Note: If you’ve placed ABC orders before, you can refer to your past invoices for this information. But if you’re brand new, your rep can gather it for you.

Here is an example of an email you can send your ABC Supply contact:

Subject: ABC item SKUs

Body:Hi <branch contact name>,

Roofr has launched their integration with ABC and we need some help getting setup. I've attached a list of allthe materials I order from ABC. Can you please go ahead and put in the SKUs in the column that says "abc_sku"? This will help me have the latest pricing in my catalog automatically. I'll also be able to send you materialorders via the API soon which will speed things up for both of us.

Note: Different colours do have different SKUs. You can pick the SKU of the colour I order most often!

Step 6: Finalize Your Catalog

Once your catalog items and ABC SKU details are uploaded:

  • Your Roofr catalog will now connect directly to ABC Supply, ensuring up-to-date pricing and item details.
  • Even if you’re new or haven’t placed an ABC order yet, as long as you have an ABC account, a material list, and the SKU details from your rep, your integration can be set up and ready to go!
